The Road to Tooleybuc

Annerley Baptist Church Hall, 560 Ipswich Road, Annerley
The Road to Tooleybuc raises awareness of refugee issues, promoting understanding of refugee journeys and their contribution to our society. Following the movie, there will be a panel discussion and community feast cooked by the Rohingya and Persian communities. Hosted by Andrew Bartlett, the panel includes:
- Jonathan Sri, Councillor for The Gabba Ward
- Sujauddin Karimuddin, Rohingya community leader
- Jessica Black, Nundah Community Enterprise Cooperative
- Alyas Inshaa, MDA case worker and member of the Afghan Hazara community
- Mal McKenna, the Fuller Centre for Housing and has also started a community enterprise involving refugees
- Lida Daliri: MDA Community Worker and member of the Persian community

Wednesday, 22 June 2016 – 10am-2pm
SANDBAG Community Centre, 153 Rainbow Street, Sandgate
Screening of the documentary Celebrating Diversity in 4017 and surrounds, plus entertainment throughout the day, featuring Karen dancers and music, Ethiopian coffee demonstration, Bhutanese lunch, screening of SANDBAG’s #CreateWelcome Week video, and #CreateWelcome Social Booth.
10am: Ethiopian coffee demonstration and tasting
11am: Entertainment by dancers and band from the local Karen Community and short film screenings
Noon: Bhutanese lunch of dumplings and mild curry
